3. The baking time stayed close, but not identical
My box suggested 28 to 33 minutes for a 9-by-13-inch pan. In my oven, the sour-cream version needed 34 to 35 minutes before the center tested done with a toothpick. At 30 minutes, the edges were set and lightly golden, but the middle still had a little wobble.
I checked again at 33 minutes, and the toothpick came out with a few moist crumbs. At 35 minutes, it was ready. So while the difference wasn’t huge,
